Gifts from my garden

Spotted Tohwee, originally uploaded by cabanagirl.

I saw a pair of these in my garden this morning proudly carrying a fresh caught worm each. They hopped off carrying their breakfast. This was the first sighting in my own garden. I hear them in the morning but until today I had not seen them. What do they say "The early bird gets the worm?" Sophie and I were lucky to be out early this morning. It is raining here this morning and the Robins are out in the garden looking fat and happy. I think they are the only bird variety that are interested in worms here

It is fun to watch them pecking in the grass and coming up with worms for breakfast, etc. I wish it was that easy for us:)

Hey! that's beautiful. I know a couple of SoCal people who've spotted a Towhee for the FIRST time ever this year(myself included). Wonder why?
