And there was food, food, food, Slow Food

boar head, cinghiale, originally uploaded by cabanagirl.

This is a cinghiale, or a wild boar. They are nuisances in Italy. With no natural predators the are growing in number and can wipe out your entire garden (orti) overnight. So the best thing to do in eat the suckers. Many sauces include cinghiale. I avoided it for a couple of meals but then gave in....quite tasty really

More than tasty, absolutely yummy, especially as a sauce on pasta, or with fruit like at Cristian's!

Wild Boar, Hmm! I guess I would try a bite. I definitely would enjoy the Pizza, I think every meal from that inviting, warm looking Trattoria would be delicious.
The pork tenderloin with cannellini beans looks wonderful, I hope you ordered that dish? I think I would have started with the Napoleon. I haven't had a really good Napoleon since my Grandmother last made one for me. I can tell that one was amazing!

Marjorie, the pork tenderloin is what my friends and I made for the restaurant patrons and ourselves. I made this. and I have the recipe too. The Napoleon was divine but you are on your own for that one. I have made Napoleon's in my French cooking school and they are too much trouble from scratch. But with puff pastry sheets it's doable. All were delich!
