Partridge, no pear tree

Well it's not long to Christmas so maybe you're thinking ahead. Maybe we'll see the 12 days of Christmas sketches.

I love seeing partridges but I'm terrified I run them over. We live in a town and they're a bit daft, they tend to just wander across the road. Often there's a whole family! I've never eaten one though or a pheasant. Male pheasants are beautiful but seem to have the same death wish!

That is very interesting. We have quail in Southern California but not partridge or pheasant. I suppose that you should try one since they are in your area. Thank you for commenting. Who knows what tomorrow's sketch will be

Partridges are beautiful, but as Winifred kindly put it, daft. Harvey and I killed one a few years ago, accidentally, of course. It ran right into the side of the car, quite a thud. We almost killed another one recently, but fortunately Harvey was driving faster than the Partridge could run. Close call. As I write, I can hear gunshots outside, hunting season is here, how I hate it. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a Partridge on some ones dinner plate tonight.
