Downtown Denver
The news for the day: Apple stock is over 600 a share!!!!, Peyton Manning signed with the Broncos (which sadly means Tim Tebow will most likely leave), Brad and Amber bought a new house and I rode the bus downtown to report for jury duty. I have been intimidated by all the one way streets and $16/day parking so the bus made sense to me. After being dismissed I left the criminal courts building and walked a few blocks to catch my returning bus. Here are some of the classic Denver buildings.

Eating a little green
For St. Patrick's Day I had a green dinner: Spanakopitas with a twist---The twist: instead of spinach I used kale. I used Ina Garten's recipe and swapped out the greens. The pastry is filo dough which is pretty tricky at first but worth mastering. The sprinkling of course salt on the top...divine.

Flower power sketch
Flowers flowers....none blooming in Denver so when the Sketchbook Challenge theme was flowers this month I decided to use this bracelet made from vintage buttons a my subject....daisies, chrysanthemums, yellow pearl beads and tiny white blossom buttons mounted on metal findings and strung together....must be from the 60's

Oh, what a beautiful day in Denver
Today was a warm and sunny day in Denver. I went out for a late winter walk through City Park....about 1 mile from my home. Once I arrived I walked to the lake and then around it. It is a great vantage point to see the Denver skyline and beyond to the front range of the Rocky Mountains. Denver is still a collage of brown, grey and black....total absence of color but the sky was blue and the sun was warm.
City Park also houses the Denver Zoo and the Museum of Nature and Science....both places I visit often with Ella and Kate. The back side of the museum looks West to the mountains.
